IBEW Local 459 is a proud division of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union,

representing a diverse workforce in Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland, primarily in the utility industry,

manufacturing and municipal work. Our members work across various sectors, including electrical

transmission/distribution, power generation, rural cooperatives, telecommunications, public and municipal

services, and manufacturing.

The dedicated blue-collar men and women of our union build, power, and protect our Commonwealth and

Nation. Our members include linemen who install/repair electric and telecommunication infrastructure,

workers at pump/storage, coal-fired, waste coal, natural gas, and hydroelectric power plants, along

with public and municipal employees. We ensure that energy flows smoothly and reliably to homes and

businesses across Pennsylvania, providing stable, affordable power essential for grid resiliency while

meeting peak demand.
